REQUESTING A MICHIGAN DEATH RECORD
The Michigan Vital Records office has records of deaths that occurred in Michigan and were filed with the state since 1867. Some of the records were not filed with the state;more records are missing from the pre-1916 files. Anyone is eligible to request a copy of a Michigan death record if the application is completed and signed and the required fee paid.

INSTRUCTIONS:

The Kalamazoo Valley Genealogy Society provides volunteers to the Kalamazoo County Clerk's office who assist researchers in obtaining death and
marriage information.

Click on a death or marriage request form shown below and print it out. Fill in as much information as you can.

Send the form to:

Attn: Genealogy Volunteer

You must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Donations are not required or solicited, but the volunteers have no budget for their materials so that donations to the Society are appreciated. The inclusion of a small stipend for look-ups is very helpful to the volunteers' work.
