Born - In Plainwell, April 22, to Willis MINER, a daughter

Married - In Plainwell, April 19, by Rev. J. S. VALENTINE, Mrs. S. G. SCOTT and Miss Emma L. ALLEN

Died - In Plainwell, April 18, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. L. S. BURTON, Samual GREGORY, aged 80 years

Died - In Plainwell, April 18, Henry BARRINGER, aged 79 years

Died - CORA BELLE, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. MARSHALL, died on the 16^th day of April, at three weeks of age.

Mr. W. O. BARBER, formerly of Plainwell, was married on the 15^th inst. To Mrs. Ruth L. CAMPBELL of Middleville

D. R. MANN, formerly of the firm of DUNHAM & MANN, has purchased an interest in the marble works owned by C. WILSON. Hereafter the business will be carried on in the name of WILSON & MANN

A music school for the study of the reed and pipe organ, piano, violin, guitar, and signing, under the direction of Mr. A. GRAVES, assisted by Mrs. E. K. ROOT and Mrs. O. E. YATES of Plainwell, and Mr. E. L. CHANDLER of Kalamazoo will be opened at Plainwell on May 20, and continue until September 20, with one weeks vacation. The course will be a thorough one in all departments

We are told that an examination of the bee hives in this vicinity this spring develops the fact that a great majority of the swarms have died during the winter. Of 16 swarms Mr. A. J. MURPHY has lost 15; of 13 swarms Mr. OLIVER NICHOLS has lost 11; of 92 swarms it is said that Mr. GEO. RICHARDS lost 90; while Mr. W. E. FORBES lost 30 swarms out of 130, Mr. V. R. HOOPER lost one-half or more of his. No reason is given for this wholesale dying of the bees

The fire department will be represented at the State Firemens association meeting by Chief Engineer C. S. CRESSY; Halecon Hose Company, by Mr. H. W. CHAMBERLIN; Hook and Ladder Company, by Foreman E. K. ROOT. The convention is to be held at Detroit, opening May 7

The executive committee of the Allegan County Soldiers and Sailors association will meet at G. A. R. hall in Allegan, April 27, at ten oclock a.m. to make arrangement for their annual reunion.

C. E. BASSETT of Fennville, formerly of Allegan has been appointed a delegate from Michigan to the international good roads convention to be held in St. Louis, Mo., May 13 to 21. Gov. BLISS made the appointment

FRED WILSON and wife of Alamo spent Sunday with relatives here

Mr. and Mrs. CHAS. JOHNSON of Kalamazoo spent Sunday with the latters sister, Miss ZENA LAWTENSLAGER

Mr. and Mrs. J.H. SKINNER have returned from their Western trip, they report a fine time.

E. P DEYOE (the first initial of the last name was difficult to read) has returned to his home here after spending the winter with his son in Kansas

Miss FANNIE DEMING of East Cooper spent Sunday with BERNICE WENHAM

Mr. and Mrs. ABNER NICHOLS are the parent of a son, born April 14

A Sunday school has been organized in the Albertson school house in East Cooper. Miss ADA DEMING was elected superintendent. We hope it will be a success

C. HOWARD BRUSH of this village will erect a fine summer cottage at Streeters Gun Lake resort, just south of the hotel, W. A. MURDOCK having the contract of construction.

FRANK ROYS, proprietor of the big peppermint farm north east of here, arrived in the village last Friday evening from West Palm Beach, Fla., were he has a fine winter home

Married, April 10, at the M. E. parsonage in this village, Rev. E. E. HAR??? Officiating, Mr. FREDERICK HOFFMAN of Grand Rapids and Miss LORA STOVER of Saginaw. They have both been engaged for some time

HENRY F. BUSKIRK has been dangerously sick for several days. He accidentally injured one of his knees, and thinking nothing serious would result to the afflicted member he paid but little attention to it. Blood poisoning set in and he has been in a critical condition, but at last report, he is getting better.
