Unincorporated villages of Chicora, and Cheshire Center.

CHESHIRE TOWNSHIP. First settled in 1839, it remained a part of Allegan township until 1842, a part of Trowbridge until 1851, when it was organized as a separate civil township. The first road was surveyed in 1852.

Allegan high school's oldest living graduate
Mrs. John (Fern) Frost, 91 of 409 Main St., Allegan, is still. able to get around her house under her own power. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 1900. Born in 1881 in Watson Township, graduated from University of Michigan in 1904, then spent ten years teaching in New Orleans and in Hawaii. She then did post-graduate work in business, and taught this in South Dakota, and Kansas. She married John Frost in Allegan Count: in 1925, and lived on farm in Watson Township until his death in 1952. She was 91 on July 4, 1972.
