Unincorporated village of PULLMAN

LEE TOWNSHIP

First settlers arrived in 1844, with lumbermen following in 1856.
The township was a portion of Pine Plains township until 1859,
when the board of supervisors set it off as a separate township.
It is believed to have been named for the town of Lee, Massachusetts.
Early settlements were Hoppertown In 1870 and
Black River Station in 1871

Captain Wilson Kettle of Port aux Basques, Nfld. had a record number of descendants upon his death.
When he died in 1962 at the age of 102, he left 582: 11 children (by two wives), 65 grandchildren,
201 great-grandchildren and 305 great-great-grandchildren.
