PENNFIELD  TOWNSHIP

 

Brief History of PENNFIELD TWP.

First settled by Estes Smith, then Samuel Convis. Named to honor William Penn, because many early settlers came from Pennsylvania. Early township officials: Jabez Lam (supervisor), Warren Joy (supervisor), John S. Gifford (clerk), George Lowree (treasurer), Eli Morey (justice of the peace) and Henry Parsons (justice of the peace).
