Seymour Garner b. North Carolina is the father of Moses. Moses would later live in Calvin twp with his wife nick named Eva. He is listed as black in some census and mulatto in other census.

Seymour Garner b. circa 1815 and his bride Altha Anna (unknown) b. circa 1820 came from North Carolina - in 1850 you can find them in Henry County Indiana.
