Margelia Brown was born about 1853 in Cohocton, Steuben Co, NY. When she was about 6, the family moved to Cass Co, Michigan . By 1870, she and her parents were living with her oldest brother, Abner in Volinia. Between 1870 and about 1873 she married Anson W. Miles, an engineer in 1880, with whom she had at least 6 children: Nettie M. (about 1873), Fred (about 1875), Grace (about 1879), William (about 1886), Pearl B. (about 1888) and Sadie (about 1890). The Miles family lived in Cass county throughout their lives. Margelia died in September 1911 and was buried in Little Fish Lake cemetery. Anson died in July 1925 and was buried next to Margelia.
