CW McKee store and names of those I could recognize. This store was in Wakelee, Cass County and the picture is probably mid 1920's. Clair (CW) McKee was my grand father and my dad Max McKee grew up there in Wakelee and his family lived in the up stairs of the store. I believe the store was first owned by William ( Dick) Akerly or his brother. My grandfather next ran an oil delivery business in Vandalia and Cass and I have pictures of my dad on their delivery trucks to send. Clair then sold his interest in the business and bought one in Hastings, Mi. where I grew up and enjoyed but made many trips to Cass County in my youth. signed Tom McKee
Additional Tom McKee notes - On Jesse Tietsort my maternal grand father's side I find: Abram H Tietsort First settlers of Cass county setteling at Stone Lake in 1829 (see cass county history and Tietsort references.txt 42 references in this book:http://books.google.com/books?id=2bYaRLNfkk8C&pg=PA321&lpg=PA321&dq=TIETSORT+(TIETSOORT) see: The Ancestry of Nathan Lewis Harrison Revisited Nineteen Years Later - Keith G. Harrison - Google Books.htm) On my father's side I find a Davis McKee that moved to the Wakelee area Cass county with his family ( he had 12 kids and his wife Elizabeth was his first cousin) in 1856 from Clarion County, Pa and his father Hugh moved from North Ireland in 1775 to Lewiston, Pa. contributed by Tom McKee of Texas.
