Died April 22 of capillary bronchitis, John Oliver infant son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. Jones, aged 11 month and 16 days. Of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Died of Heart Trouble
Fred Bundt of Vanderbilt Dies Suddenly at the Sanitarium
Fred Bundt, under treatment at the Sanitarium for heart trouble suddenly fell
over and died at the institution yesterday from the above affliction. He came
here about six days ago from Vanderbilt to be treated for this cause and was
in bad shape when he arrived. He was 65 years of age and leaves a wife and a
grown-up family. Mrs. Bundt with other members of the family came here
yesterday and took the remains home. An inquest was not necessary, as he was
under treatment for the disease which caused his taking away.

Former Resident Gone
Mrs. John Redpath Joins the Silent Majority
The following is clipped from the Petoskey News, and tells of the passing away
of Mrs. Redpath, a former residene of Boyne City, where the family were well
known.
For a long time past Mrs. John Redpath has been confined to her Mitchell
street home with sickness, although it was announced some time ago that she
was very low and no hopes were entertained for recovery, still the news of her
death came as a sudden shock to the many friends of the family, Mrs. Sara
Redpath, wife of Rev. John Redpath, passed away at 9 o'clock. A. M. Tuesday
at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 11 days. Besides a husband she leaves
three children to mourn her death, Ruth U. Redpath of New York, James and
Henry Redpath, of this city. One child which was born to them preceded her to
the world beyond. Mrs. Redpath was born in Michigan the 17th of February,
1850, and was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Uriah. In 1877 she was married to
Rev. John Redpath. Mrs. Redpath came to northern michigan about thirty-six
years ago, coming to Petoskey first in 1874. The family have held a position
in Petoskey circles, highly respected by all. The funeral was held from the
home, Rev. Wilson Aull, assisted by Rev. J. J. Cook and Rev. Harvey Wilson
assisting.

The swift winged messenger of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
French last Saturday and took therefrom their infant son, little Archie, aged
one and a half years. Spinal meningitis was the cause. A void is left in the
home that can never be filled. The funeral took place from the residence
Monday, Rev. Rea officiating.

Laid to Rest
The Remains of Mrs. Ella Grosenfent Buried Sunday
The remains of the late Mrs. Ella M. Grosenfent, daughter of L. N. Melosh, who
died in Bowlder, Colo., were brought to this city last Thursday night and the
funeral was held from the M. E. Church in this city Sunday afternoon at 2:30,
Rev. Grosenbaugh officiating, Mrs. Grosenfent went to Colorado last fall for
the benefit of her health. Her husband and three children accompanied her.
Ella M. Grosenfent was born in Jackson county in 1869, and while still a
young girl came to Boyne City, where she resided for some time after her
marriage. She leaves three brothers, one living in Antrium county, one in
Boyne City and one living in Alaska, also two sisters living in this city.
There is also left to mourn her loss three daughters, Myrtle, Nettie and Hazel.
The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Advance cemetery.

Wm. H. Thayer died at his home on Vogel street, May 19. Mr. Thayer was 54
years of age and leaves a wife and three children. Short funeral services
were held at the residence of Rev. Frank Blair, and the remains taken to Caro
for burial. Mr. Thayer was a member of the K.O.T.M.M.

Davis and took therefrom their little darling, Cleo, who died Sunday night of
whooping cough, aged 1 year and 2 months. The funeral occured to day. The
bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends.

Called to Rest
Albert Wilcox After Long Suffering Succumbs to Brights Disease
Albert Wilcox, a well known resident of this city for many years, died at his
home on Douglas Street on Saturday morning at 1 a m of a complication of
diseases, of heart disease and bright's disease, aged 58 years. Mr Wilcox was
employed as edgerman at the mill of G von Platen, and has been employed by
that gentelman for the past 18 years.
The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the residence, conducted by Rev Geo
J Rea, and was well attended by many of his old comrads with whom he had spent
years of toil.
Deceased leaves besides his wife a daughter and one son to mourn his loss,
Miss Fae Wilcox and J A Wilcox. Interrment was in the old cemetery.

Mrs Mary Wells - Died 8/29/1908
Mrs Mary Wells, aged 81, an inmate at the County Poor Farm, died on Friday of
last week of senility. She had been a resident of the Poor Farm for a long
time and was very feeble. Her remains were laid to rest at the Cemetery at
East Jordan.

Two Little Children Answer the Call of Their Maker
The fatality among children in Boyne City during the past six weeks has grown
alarming and as we go to press today, two dearly beloved forms will be laid to
rest and their earthly careers so full of hope and promise will be laid in
their silent tomb. In the past six weeks there has been an epidemic among the
little ones, and the two latest ones to answer the call of their Maker are
little Edna May Houghton, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Houghton, and the
little son of W F Price aged 1 year and 8 months.
Edna May Houghton was aged 2 years and 2 months and was a most lovable little
girl, the pride of its parents. Edna took sick a week ago and all that
medical science could do to prolong the precious life was done, but God
decreed other wise and the little soul entered the pearly gates last Saturday
and was taken to her last resting place this afternoon. The stricken parents
have the sincere sympathy of their many friends.
Little Wilford F Price died Sunday as a result of acute milk poisoning. The
funeral occurred this morning from the residence on Vogel street.

Died Monday September 14, at the home of her mother Mrs M J Brice, Christophora
E Brice age 20 years 11 months and 16 days. She was born in Grand Rapids,
November 1st, 1887, and ten years ago moved with her parents to Petoskey where
she became a faithful member of the Roman Catholic church. She was called to
the other shore to join her father, two sisters and a brother who passed away
several years ago.
The funeral was held from the Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock
which was conducted by Father Vicent of Petoskey. She was laid to rest in
Maple Lawn Cemetery.

the M E church Tuesday. Little Ira was one year and one day old.

Philip Gladstone Harper Passed Away Sunday Morning
Philip Gladstone, the little son of Mr and Mrs Wm Harper of the North Side
died Sunday morning after a severe and prolonged illness. The immediate cause
of death was cholora infantunm. The funeral was held today from the home of
the parents on North East street.
The Citizen extend to the family its heartfelt sympathy.

Baby Is Gone
The hand of death on Tuesday of this week entered the home of Mr and Mrs
Conrad Meyer and took therefrom their only flower, little Evelyn, who had been
in this world only six short months, but long enough to entwine herself around
the hearts of all with whom she came in contact. The sorrowing parents are
deeply troubled and have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends. The
cause of death was cholera infantum. Mr and Mrs Conrad Meyer, Sr of Elk
Rapids were here to attend the funeral, which occurred Wednesday.

Hand of Death
Mrs Philip Kruph Passed Away, Aged 35 Years
The hand of death has been busy in Boyne City the past month, the grim
destroyer entering the home of Mr and Mrs Philip Kruph and taking therefrom
the wife and mother of this well known family. Mrs Rruph has been afflicted
with cancer for the past six months and all that medical skill could do to
stop the dread summons was done, but to no avail, and Friday evening Mrs Kruph
breathed her last. She was aged 35 years and leaves a husband and one son to
mourn her demise in the prime of life. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon
from the residence, South Park street, Rev Geo J Rea, officiating.

Mrs Arron A Smith living on Pople street, died last Saturday after an illness
of only one week aged 35 years, of stomach trouble. The death is a
particularly sad one, as she was thought to be getting better before the end
came. She leaves besides her husband, Arron A Smith, four children, two boys
and two girls to mourn her death the youngest child beign 8 months and the
oldest 9 years of age. The funeral occurred from the home this afternoon, Rev
Geo J Rea officiating.

Don Chipman, son of L F Chipman living on State street, died Friday night last,
after a lingering illness, aged 17 years. The funeral occurred from the
residence at 10 a m, Rev Keillor officiating.

Died October 6h, at the home of his parents on State street, Don Lue Chipman,
youngest son of L F and E A Chipman, aged 17 years and 6 months. Don was a
bright, sunny boy beloved by all his friends and relatives. During his long
and severe illness he displayed great courage and patience. He gave his heart
to his Savior several weeks ago and was baptised by Rev Keilor. His faith
sustained him to the end.

Mrs Charlotte Weir a Pioneer of This County Died Oct 2
Charlotte Weir a pioneer of this county died at the home of her daughter Mrs
Thomas Mellor, October 2nd aged 78 years 6 months 22 days. She leaves 2
children to mourn her loss, the daughter at whose home she died and one son
William Morehouse both of this city and nine grandchildren.

Mrs Mary Ann Baker, wife of John F Baker, was buried Tuesday she was 69 years
of age. Mr Baker has been a resident of Boyne Valley Township for twenty five
years. Mr Baker's family are all respected by all of their friends and he can
rest assured that he has the sympathy of all of them.

Killed By Current
Former Gaylord Man Dies of Shock Received Three Months Ago
Frank Allen, fireman, for the Wastinan Light & Power company, and formerly of
the Kalkaska Electric Light plant died today in the university hospital of Ann
Arbor, where he was taken at the time of the accident.
On July 13 Mr Allen was alone in the transformer house at Geddes. One of the
men working on the outside heard a queer noise and going in discovered Allen
falling face down across a high tension wire of 11,000 volts. For days he lay
in a semi-unconscious condition, but he rallied after a time and it was at one
time thought he might recover. This is the first accident that has ever
happend to a man in the employ of the company.
Mr Allen was 55 years of age and is survived by a widow and two daughters, Mrs
H Climic of Alpena, Mrs Campbell of Bellaire and one son, Frank Allen of this
place.
The remains will be take to Gaylord for interment.
