J McDONALD FOUND DEAD IN HIS YARD
Early Tuesday morning Jess McDonald, who has resided in the first house south of Francis Music Store on Lake Street, died alone. He awakened his wife sometime during the night and complained about being sick and left the house and failed to return. After daylight his body was discovered lying on a chip yard behind the home, with a pillow supporting his head. Coroner Wilkinson of Charlevoix investigated the case and gave as the cause of death acute indigestion.
The deceased is survived by his wife and three children, a daughter and two sons. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the home.

MRS FRDVERCH LUTH PASSED AWAY AT DAUGHTER'S HOME IN SOUTH WILSON
Mrs Frdverch Luth died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Fred Burdts, in South Wilson, on Thursday May 24. She was buried May 26, age 82 and 11 months, was born in Germany and moved to Chicago when quite young, from there to Boyne City, eight years ago.
She was laid to rest in the German cemetery No. 3 by the side of her husband, who died six years ago. She leaves four daughters, two sons and forty-nine grandchildren. The funeral was held in the German church. Rev Succopp of Petoskey officiating.

OBITUARY
Late on account of quarantine
Mr John Sudman, Jr passed away Sunday, March 11 at 12:15 p m at his home, 127 N East St. Mr Sudman had been in poor health a number of years. As he was very ambitious he always kept at work and had a cheerful word and a smile for everyone. Even the last day he worked he drove home singing "We Won't Get Home 'Til Morning" will we Al, meaning Al Jubenville.
He was taken with inflamation and had an abcess, blood poisoning setting in.
He was only sick two weeks and two days.
He was a resident of this immediate vicinity for half a century, coming here from Lampton County, Canada, in 1871. In December 1876 he was united in wedlock with Henrietta D May, of Boyne Valley by Hugh Miller, Justice of the Peace who still resides here.
Mr Sudman passed his sixty-third milestone on Thanksgiving day, 1916. He was an honest character of integrity and worth and merited the respect which the community bore him.
He had been a member of the First M E Church a number of years. He was a member of the Sir Knight Maccabees and the L A. He also served two terms on the Board of Councilmen of Boyne City. He was one of the first Grand Jurymen of Charlevoix County.
He knew more of the hardships of pioneer life than any one around as he moved a great many of the first settlers to their farms with his father's ox team and often slept by a campfire.
His own people came here with a plenty but as they often shared their hospitality with many new comers, it reduced their supply.
The next morning after Mr and Mrs Sudman were married they moved on to Mr Sudman's homestead near Deer Lake, where they resided nigh on to four years.
Then they moved to Boyne City, went in partners with Alfred Beardsley in a combined gristmill and shingle mill, which stood on lot No. 16, where he lost all the property he owned.
They have built three good houses in Boyne City, on the north side of the river.
He has left many land marks in Boyne, as he has moved three or four hundred buildings.
He has put in nearly all the wells in Boyne, three are large flowing wells in von Platen's mill, which are covered by machinery.
He is survived by the widow, one son, Dr J F Sudman, of Jackson, Mich, fout brothers and two granddaughters, Gladys and Lorena Sudman.

MRS ANNA SAUNDERS PASSED AWAY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING
Mrs Anna Saunders, wife of Joseph Saunders, died at seven o'clock Sunday morning. Death was due from loss of blood, caused by a hemorrage. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the home. Capt Allen in charge.
Deceased was born at Alpena July 4, 1890 and was married to Joseph Saunders of Alpena in 1913. She was the mother of three children whom are all dead. Her mother, Mrs Cratie of Alpena was not able to attend the funeral.
