OBITUARY
Charles Carr Hammond, son of J O and Nancy R Hammond, was born Sept 15, 1857, in Indiana and departed this life Dec 15, 1930, at Brethren, Mich.
In 1877 he moved from Indiana to Kansas. Oct 21, 1879, he was united in marriage to Barbara Anna Huff, who preceded him in death May 21, 1917. To this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter. One son died in infancy. In 1914 he moved to Michigan where he lived until his death.
May 9, 1918 he was united im marriage to Emma L Wright.
At the age of 24 he was united with the Christian church and remained a member thruout his life.
He leaves to mourn his departure, he wife, one son, Ernest Hammond of Detroit, one daughter, Mrs James E Penneybaker, one grandaughter, Annabelle Pennybaker, of Kansas City, Mo, two sisters, Mrs Cora Gruwell of Oklahoma City, Okla, Mrs Brook Coulter of Cocoa, Florida and two brothers, Wm Hammond of Brethren and Cassius Hammond of Portland, Oregon, also a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock in the Church of the Brethren, Rev Chas Forrer officiating. Burial in Bear Lake cemetery.
