Documentation: Husband's General Notes ================================================================================ The confirmation record shows Arnold's birth on 28 September 1885. Arnold's baptismal sponsors were Rev. Bruno Potzger, Martha Kaeding, and Max Kuhlmann. Arnold was confirmed 26 March 1899 by his father, the Rev. Joel David Druckenmiller in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Moltke. Arnold's memory verse for life was 1 Corinthians 6:20. Arnold lived in Trenary [Alger County], Michigan on the McAfee Homestead. He left the Lutheran ministry for unknown reasons. It is not known when he came to Alger County, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Arnold did a little farming and gardening to feed his large family. In the winter he took logging jobs. All the boys worked with him at this job. My husband and I went to the Mich dept of realestate and bought a little abandoned gasoline station here in Trenary and it is now owned by the Trenary Senior Citizens as they paid us back and it is the Trenary Senior Citizens and Veterans Memorial. We are very proud of it even though I do not belong to the Trenary senior citizens any more. I could send you some pictures of it if you would like. Arnold and Violet are buried on the Druckenmiller plot in Matthias Cemetery. Also buried on this plot are Arnold Jr. and his wife Agnes Erhardt Russell and his wife Evelyn Alma and her husband Edward Walainis. ================================================================================ Wife's General Notes ================================================================================ Alternate Birthdate January 22, 1895 Notes for Violet Jennie McAfee: Three of Violet McAfee's siblings are buried in the McAfee Homestead yard because the bridge over the White Fish River was not built until 1904 and the babies died before 1900. May has the graves marked with an apple tree because the deer and the bear eat everything else that was planted there. Arnold used to keep a beautiful Pink rose there, but the snow mobilers tore it up. It is now fenced in.
