To generate Family Group Sheets in Ancestry's Family Tree Software text format. Once the program is set up you can make up Family Group Sheets easily.

*Download "Ancestry Family Tree" software (free download) and installed it on my computer.
*Export your database from FTM or PAF as a gedcom file and save it on your hard drive.
*I opened Ancestry's Family Tree Program and imported my gedcom file.
*After Ancestry's Family Tree Program imported the file, I clicked on "Browse List" to locate the husband of the FGS that you want to prepare.
*Once you have the right family on the screen, I clicked "File" and then select "Print Reports" and then the tab marked "Family Group."
*Under "Sheet Options" Select "Single Family" .
*Under "Notes Options" Choose "Sources".
*Under "Selected Family Member" choose "Parent"
*Under "Other Options" please choose Suppress RINS and Suppress MRINS (the programs numbering system) and choose any other option you want.
*On the right hand side at the bottom of window you will see a box to check for "Text File" - choose this.
*Now choose "Print"

This will run you through naming and then saving the Family Group Sheet to your hard drive in a text file. Name the file so you know who it is.
Afterwards open the text file and make any adjustments you would like such as spelling, adding some more detail if needed, such as marking living people as LIVING and taking out their details.

Now get a new e-mail message ready and address it to:
fgs-michigan@mfhn.com and mark the subject line "FGS Attached"

In the body of the e-mail list the following:
Your name
e-mail to use
Any two Michigan counties you want the file listed under

attach your family sheet to your e-mail message and hit send.
