Descendants of Elisha GROW

ELISHA⁶ GROW (THOMAS III⁵, DEACON THOMAS II GROW⁴ SR., THOMAS I³ GROW, JOHN², JOHN¹)¹ was born February 09, 1779 in Hampton, Windham Co, CT, and died September 05, 1850 in Waterford, MI. He married LOIS PALMER² December 25, 1801 in Pomfret, CT, daughter of REV. PALMER and LOIS PALMER. She was born March 07, 1784 in Hampton, Windham Co, CT, and died September 05, 1850 in Waterford, MI.  The Grow family moved to Pontiac, Oakland Co ,Michigan beginning about 1838 including Elisha & Lois & their (17) grown children with families, that gradually trickled into Michigan following the first few families.  These are among the first settlers of Pontiac, Oakland Co, Michigan.

• 2. i. LOIS⁷ GROW, b. April 23, 1803, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. March 21, 1863, Milford, Oakland Co, Michigan.  She married Waterman Phillips April 3, 1820 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  He died March 28, 1825 in Homer, Cortland Co, NY.  She married Deacon Albert Robinson (Homer, Cortland Co, NY Baptist Church), Nov 9, 1826.  They had (3) children, Miranda, Cephas & Mary.
• 3. ii. JULIA GROW, b. November 13, 1804, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. February 03, 1877, Plymouth, Wayne Co, Michigan.  She married Wanton Godfrey, March 7, 1826 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (6) children, Charles, Russell, Ann, Mary Jane, Julia & Lois.  
• 4. iii. DILLA GROW, b. December 25, 1805, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. March 17, 1866, Highlands, Oakland Co, Michigan.  She married Uzial F. Phillips Oct 5, 1828 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (4) children, Olive, Margaret, Sarah & Almeron.
• 5. iv. REV. STILLMAN THOMPSON GROW, b. April 15, 1807, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. April 25, 1888, Atlas, Genesee Co, Michigan.  He married Dorinda Graham Sept 16, 1828 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (4) children, Albertus, Mandeville, Sarah & Lois.  He married Mary Britton Feb 8, 1843 in Atlas, Gennessee Co, Michigan.  They had (3) children, Mary, William & Anna. 
• 6. v. ANNE GROW, b. August 28, 1809, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. September 09, 1896, 1st Ward, Pontiac, Oakland, Michigan.  She married Jacob Goodell Bishop Sept 26, 1826 in Homer, Cortland Co, NY.  They had (4) children, Julia, J. Merrick, Adelaide & Sarah.  He died April 27, 1866. She married Uzial F. Phillips, first husband of her sister Dilla.  They had no children.  
• 7. vi. ELIJAH TWIN GROW, b. August 24, 1810, Pomfret, Windham Co, CT; d. April 03, 1887, Pontiac, Oakland Co, Michigan.  He married Charity Baker Jan 19, 1833 IN Pittstown, Rensaaleer, New York.  They had (2) children, Irving & Laura.
• 8. vii. ELISHA TWIN GROW, b. August 24, 1810, Pomfret, Windham Co, Conn; d. March 04, 1887, Highlands, Michigan.  He married Melvina Hakes Oct 7, 1832 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (3) children, Mary, Melvin & Martin.
• 9. viii. JOHN ALONZO GROW, b. July 09, 1812, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. October 03, 1892, Milford, Oakland Co, Michigan.  He married Sattira "Hannah" Shattuck Oct 13, 1836 in Milford, Oakland Co, Michigan.  They had (1) child, Ella Grow born 1826. Hannah died Jan 6, 1876.   He married Mary Ann Sept 10, 1877 in Hartland, Livingston Co, Michigan
• 10. ix. ABEL PALMER GROW, b. August 07, 1814, Homer, Cortland, New York; d. January 21, 1890, Milford, Oakland Co, Michigan.  He married Sally Wilder Jan 29, 1837 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (7) children;  Harriet, Miranda, Hellen, Emma, Nettie, Charles Palmer, & Minnie.
• 11. x. SARAH MATILDA GROW, b. September 29, 1815, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. August 09, 1865, Waterford, Oakland Co, Michigan.  She married Simian Andrews Jan 26, 1842 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.  They had (3) children, Jessie, Cora & Charles.
• 12. xi. REV. WILLIAM BREEDE GROW, b. October 11, 1816, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. January 01, 1913, Carbondale, Lack Co, Pennsylvania.  He married Mary Ann Hackett May 27, 1838 in Auburn, Tompkins Co, New York.    They had no children of their own but adopted Mary Ann's youngest sister, Caroline Hackett Grow who married Honorable Eli E. Hendrick.  They also adopted Anna, an orphan child about 1856.  William Breed Grow was a Baptist Pastor & wrote "Eighty Five Years of Life & Labor" telling of how the family arrived in Detroit when Wayne Co was in it's infancy.  He helped his brothers build houses as that area of Michigan became a population center. 
• 13. xii. THOMAS GROW, b. March 22, 1818, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. July 29, 1899, Pontiac, Oakland Co, Michigan.  He married Margaret Morris Oct 13, 1841 in Rose, Wayne Co, New York.  They had (6) children, Simon, Mary jane, Elisha "Palmer", Dewitt, Kitty & Thomas.
• 14. xiii. EDWARD N. TWIN GROW, b. March 08, 1822, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. Unknown. He married Susan Landon Dec 25, 1848. they had (5) children, MIriam, Frank, Albert, Lois, & John P. Grow. 
• 15. xiv. EDWIN TWIN GROW, b. March 08, 1822, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. February 08, 1898, Vernon, Shiawassee Co, Michigan.  He married Persis L. Hoyt March 14, 1843in Independence, Michigan.  They had (8) children, Joseph, Briggs, Sarah, PErsis, William, Ida May, Harriet & Herbert.   Persis died May 6, 1864.  He married Mrs. Anna Dunn.  June 17, 1864.  She died June 17, 1872.  He married Ophelia Dec 25, 1872 & they had one more son, Fred A Grow, born Dec 27, 1873.
• 16. xv. WATERMAN PHILIP GROW, b. December 20, 1824, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. March 09, 1897, Waterford, MI.  He married Elizabeth Hackett, sister of Mary Ann Hackett & Caroline P. Hackett, Feb 14, 1850 in Homer, Cortland Co, New York.   They had (7) children; Casadona Ailene, Eve Eliza, Julius Albert Grow & Alfred Bennett Grow, Elizabeth "Lizzie", Judson Phillips, & Carrie Hackett Grow. Elizabeth died Sept 7, 1891 & he married Sarah J. Kempston Nov 2, 1893. 
• xvi. OLIVE GROW³, b. August 07, 1826, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. August 09, 1827, Homer, Cortland Co, New York.
• 17. xvii. RHODA BENNETT GROW, b. October 04, 1828, Homer, Cortland Co, New York; d. March 12, 1889, Orion, Oakland Co, Michigan.  She married Joseph Anthony Rowley, & they had (4) children, Willis, Olive, Mary & Joseph.
