MCNEES, AMOS - Kalamazoo Gazette  Mar. 14, 1958
Age 72,  passed away Fairmount Hospital late Wednesday evening after an illness of 2 weeks.
Mr. McNees was born February 8, 1886 in Breedsville, Mich., and been a resident here for-the past 44 years.
For a number of years he was a tower man at the East Main Street Crossing,
Mr. McNees is survived by one sister; two brothers;  Several nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday,here services will be held Monday afternoon at 2, Brigadier Harry Strissel officiating:
Burial in Robinson Cemetery, Gobles.

MCNEES, CLIFFORD - Kalamazoo Gazette Sept 27, 2000
Died Monday evening, September 25, 2000.
Mr. McNees was born in Watervliet, MI, a son of Horacious and Lillian (Bloomingdale) McNees.
He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with the Allied Paper Company for 39 years, retiring in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryette McNees on August 26, 1997; 3 brothers; 2 sistrs; and a grandson. He is survived by six children; 22 grandchildren; 37 great
grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 Thursday from Langeland Family Funeral Homes with Rev. Mr. Glenwood Cronin officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday.
Interment Breedville Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung
Association.

McNEES, Donald A. Hartford, Ml., age 66, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at his home.
He was born in Watervliet, MI
Surviving are his wife, 1 daughter, grandsons; sister,
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son on September 6. 1988 and a brother.
Visitation 4-8 p.m today (Tuesday) at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, MI.  Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at the Hartford
Federated Church, with Pastor Timothy Nyhuis of the church and Pastor Steve Stemple of Bangor Free Methodist Church, which he attended officiating.
Donald's wishes cremation will follow the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bangor Free Methodist Church, South Haven Area Hospice
or charity of the donor's choice.

MCNEES, DUWARD - Battle Creek Enquirer – January 28, 1977
Durward McNees. 59, was dead on arrival Thursday at the Branch County Community Health Center, where he was taken after being stricken at home.
He was born in Kalamazoo and moved to Coldwater in 1942. He was employed by the Consumers Power Co. and retired last September after 30 years of service with
the Bronson office. He was a member of the Angola American Legion' Post and the United Commercial Travelers of Coldwater.
Duward was preceded in death by a brother Lowell M. McNees in 1961.
He is survived by his widow, the former Blanche Nutt; a son; one grandchild; brothers, Stanley and Milford McNees of Kalamazoo, and Howard McNees of South
Haven, and sisters, Mrs. Frank (Thelma) Rain, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Slater and Mrs. Dale (Geraldine) Davidson, all of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Al (Ora) Hill of
Manistique and Mrs. Mary Hills of Illinois
Services will be held at l p.m Saturday at Kubasiak-Kolcs Funeral Home, Bronson.

MCNEES, ERNEST L. - Kalamazoo Gazette -  Sept 10, 1987
Ernest L. McNees, died Wednesday, September 9, 1987 at the Allegan General Hospital.
Mr. McNees was born in Bangor, the son of Ernest and Goldie McNees. He was a member of the Allegan First Church of God.
Surviving are his wife; four children; 14 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.
 Friends may meet with the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel,  where funeral services will he held

MCNEES, GROVER - Kalamazoo Gazette Oct. 28, 1942
Veteran Expires At Fort Custer
Grover McNees, 52, died last evening at Clarke Veterans Hospital, Fort Custer, where he was admitted about 18 months ago. He was born in 1890 in Breedsville,
MI, the son of Taylor S. & Alamada McNess and had been a resident here for 40 years, being a plasterer by trade.
He was a veteran of World War 1, he served with CO. E, 28th Infantry, and also with the 338th Infantry, participating in actions in the St. Mihiel and Meuse
Arrogone sectors and was with the army of occupation at Coblenz, Germany.
Surviving are his wife, 4 daughters, 3 sons, 1 sister, 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Thursday from the Joldersma and Klein Chapel, with burial at Bloomingdale.

MCNEES, HAROLD - Kalamazoo Gazette  Oct. 2, 1980
Passed away Wednesday afternoon at his residence.
Mr. McNees was born in Breedsville, MI., the son of Syemour & Lillian (Bloomingdale) McNees and was a life resident of the area.
He retired from from Murco Packing Company and prior to that worked for Carl Johnson Meat Company.
Surviving are his wife, 3 step children, 11 step grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother, serveral nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Monday morning at 10 am at the Breedsville Cemetery with Major Rubin of the Salvation Army officiating. Friends may meet
at the family Langeland Memorial Chapel Sunday evening from 7-9 pm.

MCNEES, HOMER J. SR. - Kalamazoo Gazette – Nov. 5, 1998
Passed away Friday morning, November  4, 1988 at Borgess Medical Center.
Mr. McNees was a member of Stockbridge Avenue United Methodist Church and was employed by Eaton Corporation, He was an army veteran of W.W. 11,
a member of the DAV Buck Crosby Chapter No. 6 and the Kalamazoo Moose Lodge. No. 88.
Surviving are his, wife; 6 sons, 2 daughters: 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and his sister.
Services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the Stock bridge Avenue United Methodist Church corner of Stockbridge and Race St., with the Rev. John
Moore officiating.
Interment in Robinson Cemetery, Gobles with military honors under auspices of the Comstock VFW Post 6252. Chaplain Herb Gage, Contributions in his memory
may be made to the Stockbridge Avenue Memorial Fund.
Friends are being received at the funeral home where the family will be present from 7-9 this evening and 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday.

MCNEES, KEITH A. - Kalamazoo Gazette – Sept. 8, 1988
Fomerly of Hartford
Passed away Tuesday, September 6, 1988 at the Bronson Methodist.
McNees was employed at the Hardings Market in Hartford for 11 years and graduated from Hartford High School.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; a sister; Grandmother and Great-grandmother both of Watervliet and 1 nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Paw Paw of which he is a member.
Officiating will be Pastor Timothy Nyhuis of the Hartford Federated Church.  Cremation to follow the service with burial later to North Shore Memory Garden,
Hagar Shores, MI.
 Memorials to the First Baptist Church or the charity of the donors choice.

Passed away Friday, November 3, 1990 at his home.
Mr. McNees born was norn in Kalamazoo, the son of Milford & Lorraine McNees and had been a lifelong resident here.
He was employed by General Motors, B.O.C. Plant for 24 years.
Surviving are 3 sons and 1 daughter; his father; one brother; several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held Monday at 1 o'clock at the Langeland Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mr. John  Vick officiating.
Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may made to Michigan Transplant, c/o University of Michigan.
Friends may meet at the family at the chapel today from 2 - 4 and 6 -8 pm

MCNEES, LILLIAN (BLOOMINGDALE) - Unknown Newspaper – May 28, 1951
BANGOR - Mrs. Lillian McNees passed away at 4:15 pm Sunday in Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, where she had been a patient since May 22.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday in Stafford's Funeral Home with Rev. John Cermak officiating. Internment will be in Breedsville Cemetery.
Mrs. McNees, who was 73 years old, was born in Luther, Mich. and was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Abram Bloomingdale. Her husband Seymour,
passed away 14 years ago.
Before his death Mrs. and Mrs. McNees had resided in Berrien and Van Buren Counties. Since his passing she had made her home with a daughter.
Surviving are 4 children; 8 grandchildren; and a brother

Passed away early Thursday morning.
Mr. McNees was born in Kalamazoo and was a life resident here.
He employed by Dutch Maid Dairy Inc.
Mr. McNees is survived by his wife,three sons was and one daughter, eight grandchildren; five brothers, five sisters.

Passed away Sunday evening at Wayne County Hospital,, Wayne, Mich. Mrs. McNees was born in Lawrence Mich., the daughter of Orrin and Mary Ellen Crawford.
She is survived  by one daughter with whom she had made her home; one step-Son, one brother, one sister, several nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Donovan Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Rev. Edwin Mattson officiating.
Burial will in Riverside Cemetery.

Passed away Friday evening at his home after a brief illness.
Mr. McNees was born in Breedsville. Mich., the son Simeon and Aleda McNees and had been a resident of Kalamazoo and vicinity for 50 years. He
had been employed in the paper mills and farming.
Surviving are: his wife: 6 sons and 4 daughters; 2 brothers; one sister: 33 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will he held at the Langeland Chapel Tuesday at 1:30 pm. interment in Riverside Cemetery.

Ex Kalamazooan McNees Succumbs:
Word has been received here of the death of Marion J. McNees, 48, formerly of Kalamazoo, in Orlando, Fla.
McNees, a graduate of Kalamazoo schools, moved to Florida about 18 years ago and was employed in a bakery there. He died Friday.
Survivors include his wife and six children, three of the children are at home In Florida: 4 brothers; 4 sisters; several nieces, nephews and  grandchildren.
Funeral services were held today with burial in Orlando.

MCNEES, MARVIN L. SR. - Kalamazoo Gazette – Feb. 13, 2003

 Passed away, Tuesday February 11, 2003 in Kalamazoo, Mr. McNees was born in Kalamazoo, to Lowell and Thelma (Miller) McNees.
He had been employed with Pre Cast in Kalamazoo, Hayworth and Imperial Carving in Allegan, and for the past 5 years with the Westbury Apartment Corp.
as Manager, Marvin loved animals; and worked as a caretaker at the Kalamazoo Nature Center. In his spare time he enjoyed going bowling and watching sports
car racing, Nature Center.
He was always willing to help out and enjoyed the company of others.
Preceding him in death were his wife, the former Gayle Lee Flancher, on November 28, 2002, and his son Marvin "Butch" McNees Jr.
Surviving are 3 sons and 2 daughters; 15 grandchildren: 1 great-granddaughter; 2 brothers and a sister; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Winkel Funeral Home in Otsego, where services will be held at 11 am, Saturday,
Rev. Dan Minor officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at South Martin Cemetery, Otsego.

Mrs. McNees was born in Marcellus, Michigan, a daughter of Orlando J, and Helena (Hodges) Willcox.

MCNEES, NATHANIEL - Kalamazoo Gazette Nov. 20, 1940
Dies at Age of 76
Five weeks after the death of his wife, Nathaniel McNees, a native of Indiana and a resident of Michigan most of his life, died Saturday at his home in North
Burdick street. He was 76
Born in Farmland. Ind. in 1863, Mr. McNees came to Michigan with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J McNees. when he
was six months old. Since, his marriage in 1884 to Bertha Clara, he had resided until recently in Bloomingdale township, Van Buren County.
Surviving are three sons, Amos And Bert, Kalamazoo and Clarence, Anaheim, Calif., two daughters, Lottie Hartford, and Catherine, Kalamazoo, and nine
grandchildren.

R. T. McNees, 61,died suddenly Wednesday at Receiving hospital,  Detriot.
He was in Detroit to visit his step-daughter
He lived in Kalamazoo and was employeed at the Bryant Paper Company until his retirement in 1947.
He leaves his wife, the former Mabel Crawford of Lawrence; two sons, the step-daughter; his mother, Mrs. Rose McNees, Dowagiac; a brother, two sisters, and
several nieces and nephews.

MCNEES, ROBERT 'ROB' P. - Kalamazoo Gazette – Jan. 13, 1993
Died January 12, 1993.
He was 4H Junior Lender and five time World Champion Horseman.
Leader and five time World Horseman. He served in the U.S. Navy with Operation Desert Shield and Storm and Operation Provide Comfort aboard the USS Forrestal.
He was currently employed at TMT Tack as store and farm manager at TMT Tack as store and farm manager.
Surviving are his father and step-mother of Plainwell, and his mother of Kalamazoo, 1 brother that is USN stationed at Willow Grove Naval Air Station,
Penn.; 1 stepsister; 1 nephew; and 3 uncles and their families.
Friends may call at Betzler Funeral Home Stadium Dr., W. of 131, where the family will be present Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 7-9 p.m.
Cremation will follow.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday 11 AM, St. Thomas-More Catholic Church. Private interment Ft. Custer National Cemetery.

MCNEES, ROGER W. - Kalamazoo Gazette – Feb. 11, 1995
Plainwell:
Died February 10, 1995, at his home.
Mr. McNees was born in Kalamazoo; the son of Stanley and Virginia (Mott)
He was nationally recognized as a breeder of World Champion Quarter Horses.
He was a member of the Allegan County Sheriff Mounted Division and former member of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Mounted. Division.
He was preceded in death by a son Robert P. McNees.
Surviving are his wife, a son and his wife, a step-daughter; 4 grandchildren: 2 brothers and spouses; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday 2pm at BETZLER FUNERAL HOME FUNERAL HOME, Stadium Dr., W. of 131, Pastor Bill Napp of the Bloomingdale Christian Church
officiating.  Interment Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell.
The family will be present Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm to receive friends.
Memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope Hospice.

MCNEES, STANLEY H. - Kalamazoo Gazette – May 11, 1992
Died, Sunday morning, May 10 1992, Mr. McNees was born  in Kalamazoo County, the son of Marion and Maude (Patterson) McNees, and was a
lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. Prior to his retirement in 1972, he was employed for 44 years at the James River Corporation.
He was active in the Senior Bowling League. In 1933, he married the former Virginia Mott, who preceded him in death on October 28, 1986.
He was also preceded in death  by a grandson, Michael McNees; and by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are 3 sons and their spouses; 9
grandchildren; a brother, 3 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday at the Langeland Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mr. James Goldschmeding of the New Life Community Church officiating.
Internment  Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
Friends may meet the family this evening from 7-9 pm at the chapel.

by a brother and a grandson.
