| The four-story building was built in 1901 by Philip J. Klingman, a furniture retailer, for exhibiting furniture. This area was the residential location of well-to-do families in the mid 1800's. Many of these mansions were rooming houses by the 1880's. Klingman bought some of these houses and razed them. |
