Brian Diemer, Runner

Brian Diemer, born in the Grand Rapids area, was a participant in the 1984 Olympics.  He won a bronze medal in the 3000 meter Steeplechase competition.

He graduated from the University of Michigan where he was coached by Ron Warhurst.  Later, Diemer would return to be trained by Warhurst and his concept of training was that, "it must be a team effort" and "to maintain personal relationships".

Diemer is married and the father of three daughters.

After the 1984 Olympics, he founded the Brian Diemer 5K annual race which is to raise money for the community (Cutlerville, MI) and is meant for the whole family and to encourage exercise for a healthy life.
