Edward W. Gentz
Well-known Local Artist

Edward W. Gentz, Grand Rapids Artist, has just received two copies of French art periodicals, "Les Artistes D'Aujourd'hui" and "Revue du Vral et du Beau," containing reproductions of two of his paintings, "Going to Grandma's" and "Melting Snow", which he exhibited last spring at the Independent Artists' show in New York city with favorable criticisms.

Mr. Gentz' study at the Chicago Art Institute with John Carlson of the Art Students' League of New York, with the Milwaukee School of Art and with John Wicker of the Detroit Art Institute. Henry de Montal-Faubelle states that "he has acquired during his studies a well rounded technique which is the basis of all his work."

For many years Edward W. Gentz has been director of a studio of advertising art, but he devotes his leisure time to painting landscapes. His favorite subjects are winter scenes for he knows well how to capture the moods of nature.
