White Swan Cemetery

This cemetery was initially cared for by the White Swan Methodist Episcopal Church (a.k.a. Oakfield Methodist Episcopal Church), and the land was sold for use as a cemetery in the 1860’s. The two pillars that support the entrance arch to the cemetery, each bears a bronze plaque with inscriptions. Left Side Inscription "In Memoriam to the White Swan Civil War Boys" These names represent over 200 conflicts of the Civil War. Seven of them perished in the conflict south.
