Francis Magennis -
born July, 1817 in Ireland.
He came to America 20 Sep 1841.
Died 20 July 1900 in Grand Rapids, Michigan

He enlisted in the Michigan First Engineers and Mechanics. He was a stonemason and helped rebuild bridges and buildings on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee during the attack on Missionary Ridge. He enlisted 13 March 1863.

Francis married first - Laura Ann Crandall
born 4 Mar 1820 in Perington, NY
died 16 Jul 1851 in Grand Rapids, Michigan - one year after the firth of Charles Hudson Magennis. Laura was a descendant of Elder John Crandall.

Francis married second - Mary Betts in 1859 in Albion, Michigan. She died in 1881.

Francis married third - Louise Blackhurts in 1889.

Charles Hudson Magennis is buried under the Magennis monument.

died 8 Oct 1927 in Canton, Michigan after being hit by a car. He was a salesman of lace. He married Roseannie Closson 21 Jun 1886 in Cass County, Michigan.

Roseannie Closson
born 30 May 1869 in Milford, Indiana

Her parents were Issac Closson and Hannah Wright through whom this family is related to George Washington and John McCain.

Charles and Roseannie's children are:
Frank F. - born in 1887, Grand Rapids, Michigan and died in 1908 of tuberculosis at 141 Knapp Street which was a TB sanitorium.
