Roll of Honor - Civil War Soldiers & Sailors
Listed in the Grand Rapids City Directory, 1865-1866,
Pgs 139, 141, 143

The following is a list of Soldiers who went from this city during the late war for the preservation of the Union and putting down the Rebellion, as near as we could get it.  No doubt there were a large number more, but we were unable to get them, as, for a long time, no correct record was kept of those who enlisted from this city.  We are under obligations to P. R. L. Peirce, Esq., Edwin Baxter and others for those we now furnish.  Those names with a star (*) prefixed denote the veterans or those who reenlisted.
