6/1941 - Marcus D. Brooks--The passing of Marcus D. Brooks, president of A.E. Brooks & Co., Grand Rapids confectioners, on May 8, removes from the roster of the Peninsular Club one of its active and well-known members.

Mr. Brooks who had been a member of the Club for many years will be missed by many friends and associates with whom he frequently gathered at the club. His death at his residence, 377 Benjamin Ave., S.E. was unexpected and a shock to fellow club members.
In 1917 he was married to Louise Wagner of Grand Rapids. Besides the widow he is survived by a daughter, Shirley of Grand Rapids; a sister. Mrs. S.A. Oppenheim; a briother, Jay W. Brooks, vice-president of the candy firm, and a consin, Henrietta L. Mallard of Grand Rapids.
In addition to his Peninsular Club membership, Mr. Brooks was affiliated with York Lodge, No. 410, F. & M. and Saladin temple.
