Obituary of Repke Popma

Death of A Pioneer

Repke Popma, 65 years old, of 520 Gildner court, an old resident employed for thirty years as a carpenter in the Grand Rapids & Indiana car shops, died Tuesday of uraemic poison.

Mr. Popm was born in Gro0ningen province, Netherlands, and served for seven years in the cavalry. Thirty-three years ago on Thanksgiving day he came to America. He was a member of the H. O. H. Surviving are a widow, nine children: Gerard A., Isaac F., John A., Nicholas J., Nettie, Lawrence, Anna, Minnie and Ralph Popma; two brothers and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock from St. Joseph’s church.
