Mrs. Helen Baker Rowe

Mrs. Helen Baker Rowe, outstanding member of Grand Rapids musical circles, stricken with a heart attack on the front porch of her home, 119 Prospect Ave. NE. She was 65 and a native of the city, and a daughter of Robert and Mary Baker.

Prominent in many organizations, her major interests were of a musical nature and in her youth she has studied piano in Germany. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the G. R. Symphony society.  At one time held office in the St. Cecelia society; was a member of the Bards and conducted the muscial appreciation class of the Ladies Literary Club.  Until the time of her death she was a contributor to the Musical Courier.  Also, a member of the Sophie de Marsac Campau chapter of the D. A. R. and a member of the Daughters of 1812.  She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Gingrich of Chicago and Mrs. A. Edward Bean of Ridgewood, NJ. Two sons, Carl Rowe of Brooklyn and Robert of this city and 7 grandchildren.

Metcalf Mortuary.  Funeral services to be held Monday at St. Mark’s Church, burial in Oak Hill.
