SHAW-SHATTUCK-LABARRE

I have several letters written by my grandmother, Emma Eliza (Shattuck) Shaw referring to her step-daughter Nellie Shaw. It seems that Nellie was staying with or boarding at Mrs. LaBarre's. By the letters, it almost seems like it may have been some kind of school. The time frame would be around 1877. My main interest is tracking down Nellie M. Shaw. But if I could find out more about this Mrs. LaBarre it could help find Nellie.
Thank you-Judy Palmaffy
