Adrian Benjamin has received the appointment as cadet to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. He has already made a brilliant record, standing higher in the entrance examination than any other cadet entering this year.

Blanch Brink and Kate Alden will attend the Ypsilanti Normal.

Merritt Coit and Ralph Voigt go to Andover.

Walter Thompson has been appointed Physical Director in Betts Academy, the chief preparatory school for Yale.

Arthur Vandenberg has accepted a position on the staff of the Grand Rapids Herald.

Leon Stevenson and Lotan Read, alias "Doc," are out west in the mining country. The latter is book-keeper for the "Little Frank S." mine, Cripple Creek, Colorado.

Wm. Champion is traveling in Europe in the interests of the Curtis Publishing Company of Philadelphia.

Charles Carrel is attending Olivet.

Cornelius Hoffius has a position on the staff of the Evening Press.

Winchester Miller enters Kalamazoo College.

Chas. Stow ('99) is attending Leland Stanford Jr. University.

Our Teachers

Mrs. Milner spent the summer in Detroit and Ann Arbor, studying mathematics in the latter place.

Mrs. Hulst took a delightful trip through the New England states.

Miss Dubridge went to the Muskoka Lakes in Canada.

Miss Hopkins was married in August to Mr. Rollin S. Foster, and now lives at Wollaston, Mass.

Mr. Smith visited Detroit and Ypsilanti.

Miss Marsh was for a time at Mackinac.

Miss Christ visited her home at Frankfort, Mich.

Mr. Snell attended the University of Chicago.

Miss James went to the "Cove" on Lake Michigan.

Miss Ellis also visited Niagara Falls and was also at Olivet.

Mr. Holmes studied at the University of Wisconsin.

Miss Chalmers was at Petoskey.

Mr. Bacon was at home for the larger part of the summer.

Mr. Shriver was in Indiana and Ohio.

Miss Ginn went on a fishing trip.

Miss Cole studied plants and flowers in the country.

Mr. Hall investigated minerals up north in the copper country.

Miss Hayes spent the summer in the city.

Mr. Goodyear's time was taken up with Petoskey and hay fever.

William Veit has returned to school after a visit to the Paris Exposition and other places in Europe.

The Misses Carrie Hurt, Elsie Hoertz, Gertrude Davy and Elizabeth Sloper passed the summer at Highland Park.

Miss McSweeney is slowing making a list of the description adjectives that she may describe her trip on a houseboat. We are all anxiously awaiting the story.

A Change in the Staff

With the appearance of the February issue of the La Plume, which, by the way, is the first number of the fourth volume, a change will take place in staff. Harold Edwards, the president Editor-in-Chief, will resign in order to take up the Editor-in-Chief position of the Annual. Clay Gould, the present Managing Editor, will fill the position vacated by Mr. Edwards. Marshall Walker, the Subscription Manager, has been forced to resign on account of his studies. Leon Closterhouse will purchase his stock in the paper and become Managing Editor.

Senior Class

President Smith called a meeting in Room 1 on May 8. The Memorial Committee reported that a picture had been decided upon. The class voted that the Executive Committee should superintende the issue of programs for graduation exercises and should get the necessary advertising.
