There were four buildings that go back to the days of Bowne Center when it was a village.  The Methodist Church, Bowne Center School, the Bowne Township Hall and the Bowne Ladies Aide Hall.

The Bowne Center School
The  sign says that the school is " In the process of renovation by project funding from a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development."   This building is now set up as a school house museum with a section for each of the one-room school houses of Bowne Township.

Township Hall
This old township hall is being used by the township offices while there facility is being renovated (2003).  The Bowne Township Historical Society was established in October, 1987.  The society restored the township hall in 1988 and moved it across the road.  It was originally on the same side as the Bowne Cemetery.

The Bowne Ladies Aide Hall, a two-story building.  We do not have a picture of it.  It was affiliated with the Bowne Center Methodist Church.  In 1991 the church built a new Fellowship Hall and the Bowne Township Historical Society obtained the Ladies Aide Hall and moved it to a spot in back of the Township Hall and restored it to become our museum.  (Note: If you look at the Township Hall photo, in the background is a two-story building which is most likely the Ladies Aide Hall.)
