Proceedings of Courtland Township Board, 1906

(Regarding road system - Act No. 69)

   At a meeting of the Township Board of Courtland held April 16, 1906, the following petition was presented to said Board.
    To the Township Board of Courtland in the County of Kent, State of Michigan,

    Gentlemen"
        We the undersigned being freeholders of the township of Courtland in the County of Kent and State of Michigan, do hereby petition the Township Board of said Courtland Township to submit by resolutions of said Township Board to the electors of said township of Courtland the question of adopting a township road system in accordance with Act No. 69 of Public Acts of State of Michigan for the year 1905.  And, that special election in said Township of Courtland be held for that purpose.  And, that said resolution be submitted with out delay.

Motion made and supported that the petition be granted and election be set for May 7, 1906.   Motion carried.
W. D. Schouten was elected Health Officer for ensuing year.
F. D. Saunders was elected Janitor for Town Hall for ensuing year and is to receive ten dollars for same.
H. W. Blakeslee elected Sexton of Cemetery for ensuing year.
Motion made and supported to transfer twenty two dollars *$22) from road grader fund in districts number 4, 45, 33, 24, 27, to general highway fund of
Courtland Township.  Motion carried.
