Friends Cemetery
Palmyra, Michigan 1837-1863

This cemetery listing was transcribed by M. Diana Davis from a transcription from the original
recording by Jonathan Harned. The recording was found in May of 1938 in the attic of Will Avis'
(Ovis' ?) home at 504 South Main Street, Adrian Mi. These records were kept by Jonathan Harned.
The handwritten booklet also includes a genealogy of the HARNED family. Jonathan Harned (one of
many generations of Jonathan Harned) was a Quaker Preacher in Palmyra. My great grandfather,
JH DAVIS, was named after him. JH's mother, Mary E PIERCE, was raised a Quaker in Lenawee
County. My Great, Great, Great Aunt Hannah Pierce, a devout Quaker, kept a journal for 50
years. Her writings confirm/coincide with the deaths listed in the cemetery from 1837-1863.
