Saturday February 16, 1935

Dale Johnson was an over-night guest of Orville and Colon Drake.

Jessie Kimble has been suffering from an injured.

Erma Kinsman was home from Remus (where she attends school) over the week end.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Burtche of Saginaw were weekend visitors of D. Burtche.

Mrs. Mary Curtis is visiting at Chas. Tice's a few days.

Ruth Wilson stayed over night with Margaret Adams at Barryton Tuesday.

Mrs. Ella Winslow sister of Mrs. Henry VanSyckle and former resident of this place, was operated on Sunday at a hospital in Midland. Her condition is serious.

Rev. and Mrs. Newland were entertained Monday at Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tice's.

Mrs. Arthur Vincent had her tonsils removed recently at a hospital in Lakeview.

Miss Alice Robinon and Lyle Jenks were united in marriage at the parsonage by Rev. Newland, Monday. Alice grew up in this vicinity and Lyle has been employed in Detroit.

Mrs. Joe Quinn and children of Flint and Emol Johnson, now of Flint, were recent visitors at Chas. Tice's.

Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Foote took a fish house to Evans Lake, Sunday.

Ardis Enyart was an over night guest of Mr. and Mrs. N.A. Enyart, Thursday.

Again Congressmen are demanding a "more elastic currency." While they're it, let 'em make it so elastic that whatever we have will pay what we owe.


Tuesday November 3, 1936

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Manke have been visiting in this community for several days.

Howard Harkins was at Lake City Tuesday.

Miss Gladys Peabody and friend of Cadillac, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peabody for several weeks, have returned to Cadillac.

Lester Anderson spent one night last week with Bob Lawther who is home now for several weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Clare Abbey attended the Grange meeting at Sturgis last week as delegates from their lodge.

Mr. and Mrs. David Richter spent Friday at the home of his mother, Mrs. W. Richter.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Foster of Flint are the proud parents of a baby girl born Oct. 23. The baby was named Joyce Rae. Mrs. Foster was formerly Miss Eleanora Lawther.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haskins and Mr. and Mrs. Ivone Gibbs spent the weekend in Lansing.

Mrs. John Nagy will entertain the "Friendly Club" Wednesday Nov. 4.

Will Spurrier plans to have a sale Thursday and then visit friends in Pontiac.

Miss Pauline Lawther and Ray Foster of Flint were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Lawther. Mrs. Lawther returned to Flint with them to spend a couple weeks.
