Thursday December 2, 1886

Miss Lottie Morse, who is attending school at Big Rapids, spent Thanksgiving with her parents.

A trial of the working of the new electric bell cord was made on conductor King's train on Friday.

Conductor Keene is taking a lay off. Mont Lyon now givs the word "all aboard" and collects the shekels.

It requires an occasional special train to move the accumulation of freight over and above what can be handled by the regular trains.

Our junior is in receipt of an invitation to attend a series of parties to be held in Big Rapids, under the auspices of the Mosquito Club.

On Wednesday, forty-one bags of grain and provisions were shipped to Mercy Hospital at Big Rapids, by the members of St. Michael's church.

Walter Knight, who it will be remembered was so severly burned in the forest fires the past summer, died at the residence of friends in Breesport, N.Y., one day last week.

Late commu8nications from Mrs. M. Carman from Rome, Georgia, convey the glad tidings that Mrs. C.D. Richards is improving under the medical treatment which she is receiving in that city.

Died -- In Wheatland, on Dunday, Nov. 28, 1886, Mrs. L.J. Hatfield, wife of Geo. E. Hatfield, aged 54 years. Rev. O.B. Thurston conducted the funeral services Sunday. The remains were taken to Plainwell for burial.

Mr. and Mrs. McGregor and children of River Rouge are spending there vacation here.

E. Bromley and W.F. Henry visited Arthur Butler in Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Carmany were in Grand Rapids Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. O.R. Kirvan and Elinor Jean and Mrs. Orin Deakins were in Grand Rapids Wednesday.

John Randal spent the weekend with his parents in Big Rapids.

Wallace Hewlett of Lansing visited his grandmother, Mrs. Henry Lovewell, Sunday.

Mrs. Bell Fisher of Benton Harbor has returned to her home after visiting her brother,T.D. Gale, and family.

Miss Neva Pumfrey visited her sister, Mrs. Mahlon Carman last week.
