Emma A., wife of James Ferrell, and daughter of A. T. and R. Randolph, whose death occurred at Cadillac, Wexford County, Michigan, July 26, 1883, was born in Watertown, NY., May 13, 1854.

The sudden and untimely demise of Mrs. Ferrell brings sorrow to many hearts. Her illness was of seen week's duration, but was characterized by great suffereing. she born her affliction with patience. She leaves a loving husband, two bright boys, aged 4 and 6 years, and a father, mother and sister to mourn their loss. Though the affliction is heavy, we trust that their loss is her eternal gain. Emma will be remembered as an efficient teacher by many of her scholars in the day school and Sunday school. She was highly esteemed and loved by all who knew her, a kind and affectionate wife and mother and a true friend to the afflicted, always ready to assist the needy. Thus in a short life she has proved a blessing to society and gone to her reward. The funeral services were held at her late home in Hinton township, Mecosta county, on Friday, July 27th, Rev. C. H. Theobald, officiating.
