Central School
This building which is of brick, was completed in the fall of 1881 at a cost of $15,000. It and the school grounds occupy one who square of the city and they are located within one square of the geographical center of the corporation, on the north-west bank of Mitchell creek. It is the most beautiful for situation and architecture of any school in northern Michigan, and has a seating capacity of about 600. The city has three ward school houses.

McGill School
My husband's great-aunt Alta (Swiler) Griffin Dole once taught school there. I would love more detailed information about this school, such as the exact location, is it still standing? If not standing, when was it razed?

Palmer School
Taken sometime in the mid 20's. The girls short bob haircuts and their long necklaces indicate the Roaring Twenties style. I cannot identify any of the children. Maybe someone who sees it on your webpage will be able to.

Bramm School
I'm doing a genealogy on the Burley and VanAlstine families in Mecosta Co. On the back of this picture it says that my Grandfather Burley went to school here. He was born in 1879, so he probably went to school there in the 1880's/1890's. I think it says Bram School. He grew up in Grant Township with the VanAlstines. Anyone know of this school?
