John Adam Drum (Drumm)

Company C, 7th Wisconsin Infantry

Born in Oerstelbach, Bavaria, on May 8, 1830. Adam enlisted as a substitute for Henry Schosh at Green Bay, Wisconsin, on October 27, 1864. He was wounded at the battle of Hatcher's Run, Virginia, on March 29, 1865. He fell ill on the return march to Richmond and was hospitalized in Washington for 3 months. He returned home in August of 1865 on a stretcher. His postwar address was Muskegon, Michigan, where he died in 1908 and was buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
