From Portage Lake, Michigan. Beloni enlisted in the 7th Infantry on August 7, 1861, for three years service at the age of 19. He was promoted to First Sergeant on September 1, 1862. He was promoted to Sergeant Major on May 1, 1863. He was re-assigned as Sergeant of Company F on January 1, 1864. He was discharged at the end of his term of enlistment at Petersburg, Va, on August 22, 1864. His post war home was on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
