Wilbur enlisted on August 26, 1864 at Walton, Michigan, for 3 years of service at age 44. He took the muster oath on August 29, 1864. He was promoted to Sergeant before he was mustered out at Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 5, 1866. His postwar address was Lyons, Michigan.
