Listed in the records as Silas Casamere. From Orion, Michigan, he enlisted at Pontiac, Michigan, on August 2, 1862, for 3 years of service at age 30, mustering in on August 14, 1862, Serving in that capacity for the rest of his term of enlistment until mustered out at Nashville, Tennessee, on June 26, 1865. His post war residence was Orion, Michigan. He died on May 26, 1917, and is buried in Evergreen cemetery at Lake Orion, Michigan.Ancestor of Douglas M. Casamer
