Seymour Gay

Seymour was born August 6, 1830, in Herkimer County (then Livingston County), New York, and settled with his family in Calhoun County, Michigan, when he was approx. 5 years old. He enlisted at Albion for three years of service on August 19, 1861. Mustered into Federal service on the August 20, 1861, as a Private. Promoted to Corporal on the January 20, 1863. He was discharged at the expiration of his term of service at Kalamazoo, Michigan, on August 20, 1864.
