Jeremiah Sullivan

Jeremiah Sullivan

Company L, 2nd Michigan Cavalry

Jeremiah is the trooper on the right in the photo. He was drafter for 3 years service from Leroy, Oceana County at the age of 31. He took the muster oath on November 2, 1863. He served the balance of the war with Company L and was mustered out at Macon, Georgia, on August 17, 1865.

The man's identity on the left is unknown; but, he bears a striking resemblance to Jeremiah. This photo shows in good detail of a well armed cavalryman of the time. Note the revolvers and the Spencer repeating rifles.
