3Albert was the grandson of David HANCOCK and Prudence CARROLL of Winchendon, Mass. and Montpelier, VT.
4Albert's grandfather - David was born 28 Feb 1786. This was Wheeler Hancock's father.
5The HANCOCK family was from Norfolk Co., Massachusetts from at least the 1600s.
6Known occupations of Albert: - Navy, Lumber camp worker, Farmer, Bouncer.
7Albert deserted the Navy thinking that he would be arrested for killing geese, he jumped overboard and swam to shore.
8Albert lived the last of his life in Stanton, Montcalm County, MI and worked as a bouncer at the McBrides Tavern.
9Albert's daughter Carolyn died at age 7.
10Albert's son Harvey lived in Montcalm Co., MI.
11Albert Sr. died at the home of one of his daughters.
12Albert's son William died of pneumonia at 1 year old.
13Albert Jr. was born dead in 1868.
14Albert's daughter Harriet married William HOWELL and died in childbirth at age 17, the baby died 6 months later.
15Albert's son Harrison died of appendicitis at age 11.
16Albert's 2nd son named Albert moved to Sheridan, MI and served in the Michigan Cavalry from 1911 to 1920.
17Albert's daughter Edith married James CLINGENSMITH, they lived in Stanton, Montcalm, MI and had 2 sons.
18Albert was a large man, and during his lumber camp days was known as "the Bull of the Woods".
19The family moved to Stanton, MI in 1880, but moved back to Muskegon, possibly after his wife died. In the early 1900's, he was no longer working, so Albert moved back to Stanton, MI.
