Abraham Miller was born 3 Mar 1829, in Summit County, Ohio to Henry and Martha (Greenhoe) Miller. He settled in Montcalm County in the fall of 1865. Abraham married 7 May 1850 Rachel Greenhoe, born 2 Feb 1832 in Ohio. She died 1 Mar 1870 in Evergreen Township, Montcalm County, MI. She has a broken stone in Evergreen Township Cemetery.

Abraham and Rachel had these children, all born in Ohio: Mary L. (1851-1875); Sarah Ann (1853-1907) wife of Calvin Rich; William (1855-1932) husband of Elizabeth Wilmore; George(1857-1924) husband of Nellie A. Richards; Lovina (1859-1879); and Harvey J. (1861-1922) husband of Mary Elizabeth Greenhoe.

In Berlin, Ohio, on 2 Mar 1871, he married Susan Frances Small. She was born 7 Nov 1833 to James and Sarah (Gerrish) Small. She was the former wife of George W. Barber whom she married on 16 Jan 1850. Her children by that marriage were Ettie and Zetta Barber.

Susan Frances died 20 Sep 1916 of chronic Bright's disease.

Service Abraham enlisted in the service from Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio on 1 Aug 1864. He was a private in Company I, 128th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was honorably discharged at Columbus, 19 Jul 1865 serving 11 months and 13 days. He was pensioned.
