Mrs. Hattie Tallman
The two sisters above named were on a visit t the well known Tallman families of this community when taken sick. Mrs. Elizabeth Tallman passed away at the home of her son, Edwin F. Tallman, in Eureka on Saturday, the 5th, aged 80 years. Mrs. Hattie Tallman followed her sister on Tuesday, the 8th.

Mrs. Elizabeth Tallman was the mother of the Tallman's and well known in this community, where she had lived many years. At the funeral, at which Rev. Johnson officiated, there was a wealth of flowers from various friends and organizations. The bearers were the sons, grandson and nephew. Interment was in the Otisco cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. Hattie Tallman took place on Monday.


TAYLOR, BARBARA JEAN

Greenville - Barbara Jean TAYLOR, 69, Haines City, Fla., and Greenville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Lakeland Regional Hospital, Lakeland, Fla.

She was born Nov. 8, 1929, at Jackson, the daughter of Opie and Kate LEONARD.

She was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended Anderson College in Anderson, Ind.

On April 4, 1953, she married the Rev. Jim TAYLOR. For more than 40 years, she and Jim served churches in Florida, Colorado, Missouri, Washington and Kansas for the Church of God. A quiet servant of God, she served as director of Skyway Church of God, Seattle, Wash., preschool and daycare from 1977 to 1985. She was an exceptional Sunday School teacher and directed children's church in the congregations they served. Barb was a wonderful example of a Christian woman who loved to spend time with her family and was an excellent cook.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Jim TAYLOR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and the Rev. Dave PERRY of Greenville, Joyce and Jerry MANGUM of Six Lakes; two brothers, Kenneth LEONARD and David LEONARD; three grandsons, Matt PERRY, J.J. PERRY, Aaron PERRY; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margaret FLOWERS.

Funeral services for Mrs. TAYLOR will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Revs. William Miller, retired area administrator of the Church of God in Michigan, and Vivian Moore, associate pastor of the New Cote Brilliant Church of God, St. Louis, Mo., officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday in Winter Haven, Fla.

Envelopes for memorial contributions to the College Scholarship Fund of the Greenville First Church of God are available at the funeral home where the family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

TAYLOR, EILEEN C.

Livonia - Eileen C. TAYLOR, 85, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999.

Eileen was married to Raymond TAYLOR for 55 years.

She was a former teacher at St. Charles.

Eileen was the mother of Marlene O'NEIL and Sharon (HOWARD) RILEY, the grandmother of Michael, Timothy, Thomas, Mary, Daniel and Susan.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Priscilla Church, Livonia. Burial will be in Greenville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Manns-Ferguson Funeral Home, Livonia.

Edmore - Emma Helen TAYLOR, 76, of Edmore, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at her home.

She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Day Township, to Charles A. and Cynthia PALMER BARKER.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest, in 1994.

Mrs. TAYLOR is survived by two sons and their wives, Delben F. and Carol TAYLOR of Alma, Forrest and Janet L. TAYLOR of Six Lakes; one stepdaughter, Beverly MYERS of Six Lakes; one grandson, Frankie MYERS of Edmore; one brother, Albert BARKER of Stanton; one sister, Mildred HOLLENBECK of Holland; and two sisters-in-law, Frances DOLLAWAY of Battle Creek and Mary MYERS of Edmore.

Funeral services for Mrs. TAYLOR will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stebbins-McCullough Funeral Chapel, Edmore. Interment will be in Vinewood Cemetery, Edmore.

Friends may call today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Greenville - Grace Donelda TAYLOR, 89, Dearborn, formerly of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, May 3, 1999, at Heartland Health Care Center, Allen Park.

The daughter of Don and Eleanor DERBY BACKUS, she was born Sept. 4, 1909, in Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleo B. "Lefty" TAYLOR on Dec. 14, 1989; and a brother, Albert "Bud" BACKUS.

A licensed practical nurse, Mrs. TAYLOR had worked at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville, and in private practice for Drs. Doug Ostrander and Charles Stevens. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Greenville.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Richard MC INTIRE of Dearborn; one sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Leverett MUNSON of Lansing; two grandsons, Michael and Megan O'DROSKI of Westland, Christopher O'DROSKI of Dearborn; one great-granddaughter, Monica Sue O'DROSKI of Westland; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral srvices will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Taylor to the American Heart Association or the Southeastern Michigan Hospice.

Greenville - Jack Melvin Edward TAYLOR, 89, 17 Mile Road, Gowen, died at home on Saturday, May 29, 1999.

He was born in Chenoa, Ill., the son of Harry Harrison TAYLOR and Alivina TIMMS.

He married Nevene K. TALLMAN in New Madrid, MO., on Nov. 7, 1939.

Jack was a truck driver for many years and operated a motorcycle from age 14 until age 89. He belonged to the American Motorcycle Association and was a former Teamsters Union member.

He is survived by his wife, Nevene of Gowen; his sons, Rick E. and Perry TAYLOR of Greenville; grandsons, Dusty and Val TAYLOR of Greenville; granddaughters, Brandi TAYLOR of Grand Rapids, Hope Kimberly Rose COLLINS of Greenville; his great-grandson, Devon Allen LAX; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Lou and Albert FRANDSEN of Sand Lake, June and Verle MASON of Traverse City, Duane TALLMAN of Sand Lake, Stan and Oleta TALLMAN of Monroe, Tenn. He also is survived by a longtime friend and caregiver, Janet DIXON.

Funeral services are 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville.

After cremation, burial will be in Spencer Mills Cemetery, Gowen.

TAYLOR, VIOLA M.

Sheridan - Viola M. TAYLOR, 83, 1293 Morton St., Orleans, went to be with Jesus today, Feb. 18, 1999, at Ionia County Memorial Hospital, Ionia.

She was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Belding, the daughter of Robert and Cora BUTTS GROW.

She married Morris J. TAYLOR on Apirl 5, 1934, at Belding. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1993.

Mrs. TAYLOR was a longtime resident of the Palo and Orleans area. She was a life member of Order of Eastern Star, Palo, and a member of Shiloh Community Church.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Maribeth and Gerald FRITZ of Orleans, Nancy and Howard DUMOND, Kathy and Phillip HOOPLE, all of Ionia, Cheryl and Dan YODER of Clarksville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Bernita TAYLOR of Belding, Paul TAYLOR of Orleans; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia GRIEVES in 1979, one grandson, Scott GRIEVES, one brother, Clinton GROW, and one sister, Bessie RICH.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans, with Pastor Jamey M. Nichols officiating. Interment will be in Palo Cemetery, Palo.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan.

The family suggests memorial considerations to Shiloh Community Church.

Greenville - Ruth M. TERRY, 83, of W. Montcalm Street, Greenville, passed away early Sunday morning, Dec. 19, 1999, at the home of her daughter.

The daughter of Lewis and Lena WYCKOFF MOUNT, she was born April 14, 1916, in Greenville.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Greenville, and the American Association for the Blind, and was a former member of the Thalia Club in Greenville.

On June 27, 1936, in Greenville, she married Louis H. TERRY, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1996. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, L.J. MOUNT, A.I. MOUNT, Clarence MOUNT; and five sisters, Louella WILSON, Agatha WILSON, Mildred CHRISTENSEN, Olive MOUNT and Ethel MOUNT.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Thomas CZARNOPIS of Rockford; two grandsons, Eric CZARNOPIS, Sean CZARNOPIS, both of Rockford; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The Rite of burial and Holy Eucharist will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Father John Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.

Rockford - Anna TERWILLIGER, 81, Charlotte, passed away Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Villa Elizabeth, Grand Rapids.

She was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Belding, the daughter of Sylvester and Lucy BROWN TERWILLIGER.

For many years she worked as an accountant at Aluminum Extrusion, Charlotte. Anna was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a graduate of Belding High School.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth HANSEN of Rockford; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services for Anna will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford, with Steven HANSEN officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

Friends may join her family in celebrating her life today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Heart Association.

Debbie was a graduate of Union High School and for several years was employed at Meijer on Plainfield Avenue.

Her mother, Betty Lou THOMAS, preceded Debbie in death.

Surviving are her brothers and sisters, George J. THOMAS Jr., Joe THOMAS, Laurie THOMAS, Susan HAHS; her father, George THOMAS Sr.; her grandmother, Lillian LAUTENSCHLEGER PIERCE; one niece, Shannon THOMAS; aunts, uncle and cousins.

Services for Debbie will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford.

Lucile was an active bowler up until two years ago.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Claude AYLSWORTH of Greenville; her sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Tootie THOMPSON of Grand Rapids, Richard and Helen THOMPSON of Saginaw, James and Nancy THOMPSON of Greenville; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters and brother-in-law, Maxine and Lyle PHILLIPS, Irene PHILLIPS, all of Greenville; her sister-in-law, Jean HUBBS of Greenville; one brother-in-law, Howard THOMPSON of Grand Rapids.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on March 3, 1990; her son Keith Edward THOMPSON, in August 1989; her brothers, Raymond, Dexter, Lester and Dale HUBBS.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in the East Montcalm Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, who passed away Nov. 22, 1998.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Youngman-McCullough Funeral Chapel, Lakeview. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bel-Green Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with Pastor James Micheff officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Mills Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, and from 10 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the church.

Edmore - Mable Irene TIMMER, 84, Six Lakes, passed away Sunday, March 14, 1999, at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Blanchard, to Juren and Grace PIERSON MURRA.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Roy CHANEY, Leon WEIDE and Jacob TIMMER; and three sisters.

Mrs. TIMMER was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Six Lakes.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Max L. CHANEY of Portland, Ore., Robert and Betty CHANEY of Blanchard; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lanny DAVIS of Edmore; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Louann MURRA of Blanchard; and one sister, Frances SNIDER of Sheridan.

Funeral services for Mrs. TIMMER will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Stebbins-McCullough Chapel, Edmore. Interment will be in Decker Cemetery, Blanchard.

Friends may call today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

TISHUE, EUNICE L. BENJAMIN

This community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Tishue, known by all for miles around for her good deeds and many kindnesses. She had lived here most of her years. For the last two or three years sh has been at the Soldiers' Home in Grand Rapids. Her last resting place will be in Stanton Cemetery (actually buried in Ferris Center Cemetery). Her husband preceded her some three years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Leland W. TOPPER Sr. of Stanton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Richard BANNISTER, Beverly and Drew STOWELL, all of Stanton; two sons, William L. TOPPER of Ada, Leland TOPPER Jr. of Carson City; nine grandchildren, Larry Bruce STEVENS Jr. of Hubbardston, Kelly, Jarod, Adam and Trevor TOPPER of Ada, Carrie and Brandon STOWELL of Stanton, Joshua and Nathan TOPPER of Alma; one great-grandchild, Alec TOPPER of Greenville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Laura Sue BENTON of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, John Thomas STEVENS; two brothers, Otis BENTON and Paul PETERMAN; two sisters, Flora HOISINGTON and Pauline HOOSE; and her parents, Reo and Winnie BENTON.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Crystal, with the Rev. Ried Martin officiating. Interment will be in East Plains Cemetery, Matherton.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

in Tulsa.

He was a retired factory worker and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; one daughter, Leona CARPENTER of London, England; three sons, Raymond Jock TOWER, William and Ernest TOWER, all of Hartford; one sister, Mildred HENDERSON of Brinton; one brother, Walter of Brinton; one grandchild, Angela SHEPHERD; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, Hartford, with burial at Hartford Memorial Park under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home, Hartford.

Married on July 16, 1943, she is survived by her husband, Howard O.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Wayne and Charlene TOWN of Belding, James Edward and Hilda TOWN of West Germany; her thre grandchildren, Rebecca Jo TOWN, Robert and Julianne TOWN of Belding, Edward TOWN of West Germany; her three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Tyler, Jordan TOWN of Belding; her brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne GUINNUP of Lansing, Glenn and Lois GUINNUP of Greenville; her brother-in-law, Harold and Betty TOWN; her sister-in-law, Helen GUINNUP.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Fred GUINNUP; her sisters, Eloise and Mable.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Greenville.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. on Monday at Faith Baptist Church, Greenville. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

Greenville - Sandra L. TOWNE, 55, Willard Road, Langston, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 10, 1999, at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

She was born June 6, 1943, in Lansing, the daughter of Louis J. and Betty J. SHERMAN HAINES.

Sandra was employed as a ward secretary at the former Belding Community Hospital and Sheridan Community Hospital.

She married Albert TOWNE on Sept. 3, 1957. He survives along with three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Mike CRYSLER, Rebecca and Terry SATTERLEE, all of Belding, Shawn and Brian HOPKINS of Sheridan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Albert TOWNE of Langston and his fiancee Patsy RABY of Greenville, Ross and Tracy TOWNE of Sidney; 15 grandchildren, Stephanie CRYSLER, Michael CRYSLER, Amos JEWELL, Carmin JEWELL, Timothy PETHERS, Billy PETHERS, Angela SATTERLEE, Christine SATTERLEE, Ross TOWNE, Alicia TOWNE, Brian HOPKINS, Stacey HOPKINS, Trever TOWNE, Shawnamarie TOWNE, Brett HOPKINS; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Louis Walter TOWNE, in January 1963; and one sister, Bev CHAMPLIN, in September 1974.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Donald Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.

TOWSLEY, ORPHA A.

Lansing - Orpha A. TOWSLEY, 82, Lansing, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999.

She was born May 3, 1916, in Mayfield Township.

Mrs. TOWSLEY had retired from Oldsmobile after 25 years of service and was a member of Nevins Lake Church, Stanton.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Alonzo HOPKINS; and one grandson, John SWIX.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Glenn; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki L. and Sidney LOUDENSLAGER of Lake Odessa; two sons and daughters-in-law, William A. and Carolyn SWIX of Stanton, Gordon L. and Connie SWIX of Lansing; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Robert Goodenough officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel.

Those desiring may make contributions to Nevins Lake Church, Stanton, in memory of Mrs. Towsley.

TREBIAN, ORVILLE W.

Stanton - Orville W. TREBIAN, 84, 1385 N. Sheridan Road, Stanton, passed away Monday, May 24, 1999, at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. TREBIAN was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Wisconsin, the son of William and Lula TREBIAN.

He was married to Dorothy M. LAFLER on Nov. 13, 1939, in Ionia.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; their daughter and son-in-law; Penny Sue and Karold HARPER of Cave Creek, Ariz.; two sisters and one brother-in-laaw, Blanche MARTIN of Fennville, Viola and John PETERSON of Ionia; one brother, Paul TREBIAN of Orleans.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur TREBIAN.

Mr. TREBIAN attended high school in Belding, and by 1942, he had started an orchard. Trebian Orchards soon became well known in the area and involved the entire family in the operation. Known for some innovative farming ideas, he was the first person in the area to use a helicopter to prevent frost from ruining fruit and also used irrigation systems to prevent frost damage to the cherries, plums, peaches, apples and blueberries. In 1957, he was one of the founding members of the Belding Fruit Storage and served on the board of directors for 36 years.

Mr. TREBIAN also was a Central Montcalm Public School Board of Education member for 16 years. He also served on the Montcalm Community College Board of Trustees and the Montcalm Community College Foundation Board, as well as being a charter member.

Other board involvements included First Congregational Church of Stanton, the Michigan Horticulture Society and the Federal Land Bank. He also was a charter member of the Stanton Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge and was recognized by Gov. John Engler for his community service involvement.

He also enjoyed the wildlife that came to the pond at his home.

Funeral services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Stanton, with the Rev. David Engler officiating, in additiion to Masonic rites. Interment will be at the Orleans Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Stanton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial considerations to either First Congregational Church of Stanton or Montcalm Community College, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

TRIPLETT, MARGY L.

Stanton - Margy L. TRIPLETT, 95, formerly of Stanton, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at Kelsey Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Lakeview.

She was born May 31, 1904, in Stanton, the daughter of Barney and Sarah LE ROY TOW.

Mrs. TRIPLETT had been a resident of the Stanton area since 1952, formerly of Detroit. She was a retired school teacher, a member of Traditional Congregational Church of Stanton, and the Friends of the White Pine Library of Stanton.

She was married to Clair A. TRIPLETT on Sept. 24, 1932, in Roscommon.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis A. TRIPLETT of Palo, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair A. TRIPLETT, on May 22, 1980.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home, Stanton, with the Rev. Michael Murray officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, two hours prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial considerations to either Traditional Congregational Church or White Pine Library of Stanton.

TROMBLEY, ROSE J.

Standish - Rose J. TROMBLEY, 97, Standish, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at the long-term care unit of Standish Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 11, 1901, in Beaver Township, the daughter of George and Josephine SWIENCICKI.

Rose married Victor TROMBLEY in 1922 in Beaver Township.

Mrs. TROMBLEY has been a Standish area resident for the past 66 years. A loving and giving mother and grandmother, she taught many by her words and living examples of her strong faith in God. She was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in AuGres.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor; four daughters, Roseanne, Lillian, Alice and Arlene; two sons-in-law, Bob BUSH, Joe CIPOLLA; one daughter-in-law, Dorthea; three brothers; and one half-brother.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, the Rev. Edward TROMBLEY of Saginaw, Elmer TROMBLEY of Standish, Tom and Nancy TROMBLEY of Standish; one daughter, Marylou BUGH of Standish; 25 grandchildren and their spouses, Mike BUSH of Lansing, Pat BUSH of Grand Rapids, Vickie and Terry WHITNEY of Bentley, Rose and Russ STEINER of Hartland, Ed and Ann TROMBLEY of Standish, Mike and Sandy TROMBLEY of Standish, Janet and Wayne ENSIGN of Gladwin, Becky and Bob COLBURN of Standish, Karen PENKALA of Bay City, Pat and Julie TROMBLEY of Standish, Doug and Sheri TROMBLEY of Bay City, Jim CIPOLLA of California, Sue CIPOLLA of California, Rod DEWALD of AuGres, Bob and Sandra DEWALD of Omer, Ron and Penny DEWALD of Twining, Paul BUGH of Kalkaska, Chuck and Kendra BUGH of Sterling, Annette and Ray LA LONDE of Standish, Jim BUGH of Standish, Cindy and Tom WECK of Greenville, LaVonne and Jason PRITCHARD, Tom TROMBLEY, Teresa TROMBLEY, Amanda TROMBLEY, all of Standish; 32 great-grandchildren; one halfbrother; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service took place Thursday at St. Marks Catholic Church in AuGres with Rose's son, the Rev. Edward TROMBLEY, and the Rev. James Falsey officiating. Burial was in St. Edwards Catholic Cemetery, Omer.

Funeral arrangements were handled by R.O. Savage Funeral Chapel, Standish.

TRONSEN, RONALD LEROY

Howard City - Ronald Leroy TRONSEN, 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999.

He was born March 15, 1916, in Reynolds Township, Montcalm County, to Albert and Grace MILKS TRONSEN.

Ronald married Charlotte CHAFFEE in 1941, and they made their home in Winfield Township for 56 years. Ronald was a farmer and served his community as Winfield Township supervisor, Farm Bureau and Amble United Methodist Church member. Mr. TRONSEN will be remembered for his passion for draft horses and his devotion to his family, friends, church and community.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Maribeth of Morley; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Donald BAUMAN of Howard City, Ruth and Dale HESS of Stanwood and Barbara TRONSEN; nine grandchildren, Douglas, Rodney, Susan, Darcie, Kentston, Charlotte, Michael, Katie, Lindsey; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, in 1998; his parents; one son, Roger; one daughter, Pamela; and one great-grandson, Ross M. TRONSEN.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Heckman-Mohnke Funeral Home, Howard City, with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Amble Cemetry.

Memorials to Amble United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association may be left at the funeral home, where friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and prior to services on Saturday.

TROOP, EARL "DEAN"

Belding - Earl "Dean" TROOP, 73, of Chula Vista, Calif., a former Belding mayor, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Castle Manor Nursing Home, National City, Calif.

He was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Gratiot County, the son of Earl D. and Hazel KINNEY TROOP. Dean was a graduate of Michigan State College in 1949. He served the city of Belding as mayor for two terms.

Dean managed the Handy Market in Greenville and the Mini Market in Belding.

He is survived by one daughter, Lori TROOP of Grand Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Devin TROOP, in 1994.

Private family services will be at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, with the Rev. Charles Davenport officiating.

Memorials may be made to Alvah N. Belding Library or Mel Trotter Missions of Grand Rapids.

The family was served by the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding.

TRUESDELL, HELEN E.

Sheridan - Helen E. TRUESDELL, 91, 1928 Jenks Road, Fenwick, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at the United Memorial Long Term Care Unit, Greenville.

She was born May 22, 1908, in Ionia, to William and Margaret ROTH KRUEGER.

Mrs. TRUESDELL had been a longtime resident of the Fenwick area and made her home with her sister, Esther, for the past nine years.

She is survived by one sister, Esther M. GLADDING, Fenwick, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest TRUESDELL; two sisters, Emma HERMANS and Bertha BASSLER; and one brother, Henry KRUEGER.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
