This booklet was published in 1902 with assitance from the Greenville Independent newpaper. Over several weeks, articles were published in this newspaper with the recollections of August Rasmussen, a 72 year old Danish Pioneer. Patrons asked for the articles to be combined into one booklet, which is linked below. August Rasmussen was an early settler in Montcalm Township and many others from Denmark followed his lead. This journey and its challenges are outlined in his recollections. This particular copy was shared with this website by Ken Charon, whose ancestor, Pearl Ellsworth Hogan, passed it down on her 90th birthday.
