OGEMAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN

IMAGES

Photographs make the history of any town or personality of family members much more vivid. The earliest pictures of Ogemaw County seem to have been taken around 1900. Several photographers set up shop in the area at that time. Nelson Colbath took historically significant photos of the Rose City area; and S. W. Close & Company of West Branch contributed awesome portraits of the local individuals. Many of their photographs and picture postcards have been donated to local historical societies and many, many more exist in family albums and shoeboxes underneath beds. If you have photos of places or individuals connected with Ogemaw County, please consider donating them to your historical society. Photographs can be scanned and printed or saved and the originals can be returned unharmed. If you would be interested in contributing your pictures, please contact me for further information.
