John A. Lindstrom


John A. Lindstrom, salesman for G.W. Bevins, general merchant, is a native of Sweden, where he was born Sept. 30, 1853, in Wermland. He is the son of Nels and Kate Lindstrom. His mother dying when he was a child of eight years, he was cared for by others until he was 17, when he returned to the home of his father. A year later they came to the States, and located on a farm in Sherman Township, in Osceola County. The senior Lindstrom is a successful farmer of the same township.

Mr. Lindstrom succeeded in obtaining an excellent and thorough knowledge of the use of the English language, and for some time, while acquiring an understanding of the cutoms of American people, was occupied as a common laborer. In 1880 he entered upon the duties of his present position, which he has discharged with ability and fidelity. He is a supporter of the tenets of the Lutheran religion and is a Republican in political adherence.He was married in Tustin Aug. 5, 1881, to Huldah M. Olson, who was born Jan. 16, 1858, in Westevrik, Sweden, where her father is a merchant. She grew to womanhood in her native land, coming to the United States in 1880. She is the mother of two children, - Alfdis S. and Florence I.
