Text: STANISLAUS DREFFS BURIED ON FRIDAY; ST. MARY CEMETERY

Stanislaus A. Dreffs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dreffs of Gaylord, who died in McPherson Memorial Hospital at Howell, Nov 20, eight hours after he was in an automobile accident, was buried at St. Mary Cemetery, Friday Nov. 25.

Mr Dreffs was born March 24 1897 at Gaylord being 35 years, seven months and 26 days old. He made his home here until in 1918 when he entered the world war and served fourteen months with the Motor Ambulance Corps in France, being honorably discharged after the armistice.

Returning home, he took a job with C.L. Dunbar Road Contractor as a foreman, building the road between Hillman and Atlanta, living in Hillman two years. About ten years ago he went to Detroit where he worked at his trade of a plasterer for some time, then going with the Bell Furniture Co. as a representative.

After returning from the army he was married to Miss Sophie Koscielniak of Gaylord, and she and her three children, Victor, aged 9; Lillian 7; Stanley Jr. 4; survive, together with his parents, four sisters and four brothers, as follows: Mrs. F. A. Walkowski, Lansing; Mrs. Stanley Rutkowski, Grayling; Mrs. Walter Swantek, Mrs. Louis Mankowski, Alex, Walter, John and Edward, of Gaylord, beside a host of other friends and relatives who mourn his death.

Msgr. S. Ponganis preached the funeral sermon at St. Mary church. Pall bearers were Alex, Walter, John and Edward Dreffs, and Anthony and Joseph Koscielniak.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Graczyk, Mr. and Mrs . Andrew Kuczma, Mr. and Mrs. John Sivik, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zowachi of Detroit; Dr. H . B. Koscielniak of Omer; Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Walkowski of Lansing and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rutkowski of Grayling.
