Josephine Kosiara, 89, of Gaylord, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003 at Tendercare.

Mrs. Kosiara was born in Gaylord on Feb. 21, 1913. She attended Big Lake school and after marrying her husband Walter, the couple ran a farm.

Mrs. Kosiara later worked in the kitchen at St. Mary School. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral parish and the Altar Rosary Society.

Mrs. Kosiara was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and her daughter, Margaret VanOchten.

She is survived by her children: Dolores Kosiara of Lansing, Regina (Jim) Lelo of St. Louis, Mich., Frances Nowak of Gaylord and Joseph (Barbara)

Kosiara of Middleville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters: Louis (Irene) Jaruzel of

Houghton Lake; Mack (Christine) Jaruzel of Millington; Frances Strzynski, Julia Kowalski, Theresa Jaruzel, Anna Jaruzel and Agnes (Tony) Dreffs,

all of Gaylord; Cecelia Schotte of Waters, Mary Kujawa of Livonia and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord, the Rev. John McCracken officiating.

Visitation at the Nelson Funeral Home was held on Friday from noon until 8 p.m. and will be held today at the church beginning at 10 a.m.

A parish wake service was held Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., followed by a rosary, offered by St. Mary Altar Rosary Society at 4 p.m.

Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Cathedral Schools through the Nelson Funeral Home.
