Peter Reynolds, War of 1812 Veteran, Elmwood Cemetery, Lamont, MI

Peter Reynolds was a War of 1812 veteran. He served in Capt. Whiting’s Co., New York Militia and he received a land warrant for his service in the war. He was born April 6, 1790, in New York, and married Rhoda Mariah Green about 1813. Rhoda died October 11, 1851, according to IGI records. Peter married a second time to Orril, born in New Hampshire, according to census records. Peter died on January 11, 1865, age 74 years, 9 months and 5 days, and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Lamont, Michigan, according to his gravestone record.

Elmwood Cemetery was restored and gravestones were repaired by Henry and Loekie Boersma in 1995. Elmwood Cemetery is now maintained by Tallmadge Township.
