Ottawa Pioneer Dead
Immigrated From the Netherlands in 1866

Grand Haven - Floris Dykema, 75 years old, is dead at his home in Ferrysburg, after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Dykeman was born in the Netherlands and came to this country in 1866 settling in Grand Haven. He was in the meat business here for a number of years, after which he opened a market in Ferrysburg, which he maintained until 1905. He sold out in that year and retired from active business.
Besides the widow, he leaves three children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grand child. His children are: Mrs. H. Yock of Ferrysburg, Mrs. J. Bolt of Grand Haven and Mrs. M. Medema of Grand Rapids.
Funeral services will be held from the home in Ferrysburg tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Van Der Schaaft of Spring Lake and Rev. H. Harmeling of Grand Haven officiating.
