Walling, Millard F., Coopersville Observer, January 6, 1928

Millard F. Walling passed away Thursday, December 28, 1927, at his home in Lamont.

He was born in Lyons, New York, December 4, 1848. At the age of four years he came with his parents by ox team to Steel’s Landing, now known as Lamont, where he has lived most of his life.

On February 16, 1876, he was married to May Viola Thornsen of Grand Rapids, who preceded him in death nearly eleven years ago.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. John Park of Coopersville, Mrs. Fred Sackrider of Parma, Mrs. Frank Randall and Mrs. Oscar G. Hultman of Grand Rapids; also a sister, Mrs. Amy Bateman and a niece, Miss Orpha Austin of Lamont.

Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery at Lamont, Saturday afternoon.
